this is a pretty famous article which can be found in various anthologies and textbooks. to some extent , it is a bit ahead of its times ,being a psychological approach. i read it a few times and found it quite enlightening owing to the fact that i also happen to be interested in Macbeth . De quincey 's opium eater and his article on Pope in which he classifies litarature into literature of power and literature of knowledge are also worth reading. |
